In my old garden we kept chickens in an enclosure which backed on to my studio window. The chooks used to perch on the window ledge and peep in attracted by my movements or the radio. I loved their curiosity and wanted to capture the idea in clay. These forms are coiled clay, pinched and shaped to show their individuality. Luckily the new studio is right by a farmyard so I can continue with the series although they may not all have a name.
